It all started when I was 18 years old. I was pregnant with my first child out of wedlock to a man I can’t find myself being with at all whom I consider a boy still himself. So I knew I had to grow up quick and be the best mom I could be. I wanted to be a role model for my daughter that was when things came crashing down. I was fighting for full custody, working two jobs to make rent, feed my child and I.
Then come to find out with the stress of it all, I forgot to mention I have myoclonic epilepsy. And was diagnosed at 18. My daughter now 7, was diagnosed with mild autism at age 2, and diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia just recently. But I can say I have found the best support system when it comes to family and the doctors I have chosen for my daughter. We are a great team. The full custody battle strides on, but I have my daughter basically all the time. My husband is an amazing person, and the fact that he accepts my daughter as his very own, I couldn’t ask for more. I love my family… and the story still goes on.
